Extensions Afro Hair
Hello, my name is Helen. I’m a celebrity stylist, and I also offer concierge services all over the world. I specialize in nonsurgical hair replacement and hair extensions for women of all different nationalities. Whether you are a woman suffering from severe hair loss or a woman looking for more volume, length, body to your hair, there’s help for you. Today we’re going to talk about extensions for African Americans with braiding styles. The beginning of my career, I was a braider first which at the time I didn’t know was going to be very significant to the job I do which is great. The thing about it is you want to know how to braid properly, especially when working with one’s hairline because at that point you can cause a lot of breakage and damage if you don’t know what to do. Today we’re going to work with a hairline that is already naturally thin. This is not due to abuse but more of her hereditary factors that make this come into play but when working on this type of hairline for braiding, what you do want to avoid is braiding this hair naturally all by itself. The follicles are weak. The hair is pretty weak. It’s not strong and it’s very see through which can cause a lot more problems than we are prepared to deal with. So what we want to do is we want to take our extension so we take a lot of pressure off when we are braiding. We want to use
tedshair an extension of another color because when clipping off from the braid, we can tell that this hair is not the color of this hair and we know where to cut. So first of all what we want to do is start from here,
tedshairs now if you can see the pressure that I’m applying it’s going to be very very light because I’m at the line where it causes the most problems and the most breakage if done wrong. So we’re going to braid this just to give you a look at what we’re talking about. The way I’m picking this up, I’m not really picking up into the follicle and I’m sort of braiding backwards. I’m picking the hair up just a tiny bit at the follicle, but I’m letting all the extension do the rest of the work. That way, this client doesn’t experience hair loss when taking her method off. This is a wonderful way to achieve that. So as you can see it may look like I’m
tedhairs picking it up very very lightly because
tedhair I am and we’re going to braid all the way down and my model is not in any pain which is very important and I’m not pulling from the follicle, we end up with bumps from the hairline and a lot of other things that can cause hair loss and that’s what we don’t want. We want a beautiful method but we want it to flow so this is the way we’re going to braid this. In here, when you get a little bit of pick up you can drop out a little bit. You don’t have to pick up every little piece of hair on the hairline because it will naturally just kind of go in and be comfortable for the client in this particular method. So we pull out a little bit and that’s a comfortable way for a client to have a braid done. You want to make sure that it has some flexibility from the scalp, and that’s a perfect way to achieve this method.
